Abstract
A consistent framework for measurement of building work used by quantity surveyors to prepare bills of quantities, outlining how to measure items like length, area, volume, weight, and number, reducing omissions and errors in tender documentation.
Document History
SMM7 was replaced by NRM2 (New Rules of Measurement) in 2013, though it may still appear in legacy contracts. Amended September 1988, May 1989 and May 1992. In 1998 further changes were required. Three amendments were also issued in May 2000 (1 and 2) and in June 2009 (3).
