Abstract
Refurbishment and re-planning layout of education centre on the campus of Queen's Medical Centre required insertion of an atrium, rainscreen overcladding of original walls with laminate cladding panels, new profiled roof of terne coated stainless steel, divided by a clerestory to introduce daylight. Working details of internal staircase and of glazed roof. Architects: Professor Peter Fawcett with Thurlow Carnell & Curtis.
