Abstract
The 1996 edition of BS 6399: Part 1 'Code of practice for dead and imposed loads' provides, for the first time, specific guidance on dynamic loads arising from synchronised crowd movement. Gives the background information which supports the recommendations in the Code and provides the equations for calculating structural response to dynamic crowd loads. Includes improved information on the loads generated by crowds.
