Abstract

Incorporates a range of benchmarks against which the actual performance of sports centres can be compared. Describes a number of approaches for comparing performance, depending on the available data and level of sophistication required. The simplest of these requires only straightforward information, while the more complex approaches refine the procedure to match an individual sports building and its facilities more closely. Outlines the procedure of assessment to determine which approach is most appropriate. Includes a worked example.
