Recommendations for providing adequate illumination for the safety of persons in the event of interruption of the normal lighting having due regard to the hazard level and degree of familiarity of occupants with particular premises. Also gives guidance on illumination of fire alarm points and fire fighting equipment.
Supersedes BS 5266-1:1975. Superseded by BS 5266-1:1999, BS 5266-7:1999 and BS EN 1838:1999.
