Gives recommendations and guidance on the factors that need to be considered in the design, installation and wiring of electrical emergency escape lighting systems. Also covers the illumination needed for safe movement and recommendations for lighting in areas with fixed seating.
Superseded by BS 5266-1:2016. Supersedes BS 5266-1:2005 and BS 5266-10:2008. Came into effect 30 November 2011. Amendment dated 30 June 2012 - Removed 'and verification of existing installations' from Figure F.1.
