BS EN ISO 140-7:1998 Acoustics - Measurement of sound insulation in buildings and of building elements. Field measurements of impact sound insulation of floors (Withdrawn)

Publication Year

1998

Document Status

Withdrawn, cited in regs

Abstract

Measures the impact sound insulation between a pair of rooms. The steady state 1/3 octave band filtered receiving room sound pressure level is measured while a standardised tapping machine is hammering on the test floor. Determines the receiving room equivalent absorption area and derives the normalised/standardised impact sound pressure level. The results can be used to determine whether floors have met acoustic specifications, e.g. Building Regulations.
