Abstract

Applies to the basis for the design of buildings and civil engineering works in unreinforced, reinforced, prestressed and confined masonry, dealing with the requirements for ductility, strength, resistance, serviceability and durability of structures.

Document History

Supersedes BS 5628-1:2005, BS 5628-2:2005, DD ENV 1996-1-1:1996 and DD ENV 1996-1-3:2001. To enable EN 1996-1-1 to be used in the UK, the Nationally determined parameters (NDPs) will be published in a National Annex, which will be made available by BSI in due course. Amendment 16209 is Corrigendum No.1 dated February 2006 - Revision of supersession details. Amendment dated 31 December 2009 - Implementation of CEN corrigendum July 2009.
