Abstract

The legal requirement for the health and safety file is to provide the information needed to manage future health and safety risks. A significant proportion of health and safety information that is to be included in the health and safety file is inseparable from typical handover information. This standard specification is based on the premise that the health and safety file and the other handover documents need to coexist to provide an information system that is practical for the building user to operate. It covers information requirements beyond the legal minimum to reflect good practice of having a comprehensive system of health and safety information and other related handover information.
