Abstract

Describes the major technologies that can be incorporated into new and existing buildings to provide cleaner and less environmentally damaging ways of heating, cooling and powering, along with their operational characteristics, maintenance requirements, and an idea of the possible savings in carbon dioxide emissions. Designed to assist technical dialogue between a client and a design team during the briefing process, and to help a project team identify suitable technologies. Suggests how these can interface with conventional architecture and building services.
