BSRIA Guide BTS 2/2015 Test method for heat interface units (amended June 2016)

Abstract

Describes suitable tests for heat interface units (HIUs) with an incorporated heat exchanger. The tests cover: static testing of capacity of space heating and domestic hot water production, dynamic testing of domestic hot water production, fluid side pressure drop on both circuits, plate deflection and measuring of heat loss.

Document History

Supersedes BTS 2/2015 'Test method for heat interface units' (BSRIA, 2015). Details of the 2016 amendment are as follows: on page 7, in section 4.3.4 item 2 has been changed to read 'Pressure sensors shall be checked against a reference instrument before commencement of each series of tests and zero checked prior to testing each HIU.' In addition on page 8, in table 3 (Thermal capacity test conditions) the primary inlet temperature for test condition 2 has been changed from 80.0°C to 65.0°C. Information relating to this amendment is given on the amendments and corrections page on the BSRIA Bookshop website. Dated December 2015, amended June 2016.
