Abstract

Brings together descriptions of diseases associated with air conditioning and humidification in air conditioning systems. Indicates health hazards associated with humidification and provides guidance to designers and maintainers of such equipment. Describes diseases known to have arisen in air conditioned buildings and indicates the probable sources of infection. Also describes the medical symptoms of the diseases. Outlines the humidification process in air conditioning and available types of humidification equipment. Sets out good practice in the selection and operation of humidifiers to avoid infections.
