Abstract

The objectives of this project were; to clarify between innovation that is seen as desirable in industry from a company point of view and that which is seen as unhelpful and to relate this to general activities in those companies; to reveal processes of innovation in companies, including those which may not be labelled as such normally; to identify the orientation and linkages between different construction participants, including manufacturers and suppliers, and the effect these have on the scope of innovative activities; and to generate proposals, illustrated with real life examples, or ways in which integrating to innovate can produce the conditions that will lead to industry motivation and pull for change.
