Abstract

Technical Notes 1 and 2 deal with problems which may be encountered in bad ground and waterlogged conditions. Technical Note Number 3 provides full information on the critical area where the pipeline is built in to a structure. The consideration of concrete bedding to clay pipes has been brought fully up to date by Technical Note Number 4. Technical Note Number 5 details the procedure for laying vitrified clay pipes under a floor-slab. Technical Note Number 6 draws together the guidance given and details the design and construction parameters involved in laying pipelines at depths less than those generally recommended. The increasing use of repair and adaptor couplings for pipelines is reflected in Technical Note Number 7. Technical Note Number 8 gives clear advice on the use of vitrified clay pipes, fittings and joints where chemicals are found in both effluence and contaminated ground.
