Quarterly building price and cost indices: July 2010 (revision to deflators)

Publication Year

2010

Document Status

Withdrawn

Abstract

A basic 'tool of trade' to those involved in estimating, cost checking and fee negotiation on public sector construction works.

Document History

Supersedes Quarterly building price and cost indices: June 2010. Data obtained from BCIS Online. As part of the changes made to the method of estimating the construction output statistics by the Office of National Statistics (ONS), a new set of deflators was published in July 2010. They were developed following discussions between the Department of Business Innovation and Skills (BIS), ONS and BCIS and are based on the use of the available indices that best represent the sectors of the construction industry covered by the output statistics. This included the production of new series for the private industrial and infrastructure sectors. The new series have a 2005 average base (2005=100). Superseded by Quarterly building price and cost indices: September 2010.
