Code for sustainable homes - a step-change in sustainable home building practice (Withdrawn)

Publication Year

2006

Document Status

Withdrawn, cited in regs

Abstract

Presents a new national standard for sustainable design and construction of new homes. By integrating elements of this voluntary Code into new homes and obtaining assessments against the Code, developers will be able to obtain a 'star rating' for any new home which will demonstrate its environmental performance. Covers: explanation of what the code for sustainable homes comprises; how the code works; summary of code benefits; code standards; and also practical examples.

Document History

Applies in Wales only as the Code for Sustainable Homes has been withdrawn by the DCLG in England. Supersedes Proposals for introducing a code for sustainable homes - a consultation paper (ODPM, 2005). Superseded by Code for sustainable homes - setting the standard in sustainability for new homes (DCLG, 2008). This document is no longer available from the original publisher therefore the status is unconfirmed.
