Non-statutory guidance for site waste management plans

Abstract
The aims of site waste management plans (SWMPs) are to improve materials resource efficiency and to reduce fly tipping. This guidance puts these aims into perspective for the client and the regulator, detailing how they apply to all aspects of construction work, including demolition and excavation and covers the exclusions. Describes how to write and implement and legal duty, who should write a plan and the information to be recorded. Discusses elements of the life cycle of SWMPs such as updating and storage.
