Accessible thresholds in new housing - guidance for house builders and designers
The aim of this guide is to suggest design solutions that will make the thresholds of dwellings more accessible to wheelchair users and people with limited mobility, whilst minimising the risk of water entering the building, and to help designers achieve solutions that do not conflict with other aspects of the Building Regulations.

Formed from the merger of the Department of Transport (DOT) and the Department of the Environment (DOE). Split into the Department of Transport, Local Government and the Regions (DTLR) and the Department of the Environment, Food and Regional Affairs (DEFRA). The DTLR was disbanded in 2002.
