Abstract

Provides guidance on the content and preparation of Transport Assessments and Transport Statements. Also sets out to assist stakeholders to determine whether an assessment may be required and, if so, what the level and scope of assessment should be.

To be read with Guidelines for traffic impact assessment (TIA) (Institution of Highways and Transportation, 1994); Draft circular X/2006: planning and the strategic road network and Guidance on agreements with the secretary of state for transport under section 278 of the highways act 1980 (draft) (both DFT, 2006).
