Abstract

Aims to assist those operating passenger trains and stations in making railway travel easier for disabled passengers. Sections covered include: staff training, information and pre-travel information, station location, car parking, set-down and pick-up points, unobstructed progress, doors, lighting, floors, furniture, walls and transparent obstacles, signs, announcements, help points, ticket sales points, seating, toilets, crossing the track including subways, lifts, ramps, steps and stairs, platform lifts for boarding trains, escalators, platforms, waiting rooms and shelters, substitute transport, connecting transport.
