Publication Year

1996

Document Status

Withdrawn

Abstract

Deals with policies, consultations and conditions which are relevant to achieving effective reclamation of mineral workings. It advises on the scope of information which should be provided with applications for new mineral developments, to enable relevant planning conditions to be drawn up and resulting site reclamation to be achieved, and on financial provision in relation to securing the restoration of mineral workings.

Document History

Supersedes MPG 7 Reclamation of mineral workings (DOE, 1989) which remains valid in Wales. Also supersedes DOE Circular 25/85. This is also known as Welsh Office Circular 60/85, which is still in force. Superseded in Wales only by Minerals Technical Advice Note 2: Coal (WAG, 2009) in respect of coal-related development. Superseded in England by National planning policy framework (DCLG, 2012).
