Abstract

The investment in infrastructure through Public Private Partnerships (PPP) projects raises a number of challenges in respect of when and how to introduce private sector finance. Focuses on private sector sources of finance for infrastructure projects, and the issues associated with the use of private sector finance on infrastructure projects. Also provides an introduction to project finance, limited recourse financing structures, and how private sector finance can be used in a manner that is complementary to the traditional funding sources, and finally, includes a high level review of the taxation issues associated with PPP contracts.
