Abstract

Presents challenges and opportunities for global construction and introduces the concept of GeoQ, a framework for ground risk management during construction projects’ life cycle. Identifies characteristics of risk perception and individuals’ potential contribution to effective risk management. Explores the interaction of team members and how they contribute to ground risk management. Describes how clients and society perceive the risk from construction. Presents the application of the GeoQ in six phases: feasibility, pre-design, design, contracting, construction, and operation and maintenance.
