Conservation principles for the sustainable management of the historic environment - first stage consultation
Sets out a set of principles intended to provide a framework for an integrated approach to the sustainable management of the historic environment as a whole - one that would be applicable to any and all aspects of it, whether individually or in combination, compatible both with existing legislation and policy, and the anticipated changes, which include the establishment of a single, integrated 'Register of Historic Sites and Buildings of England'.
Consultation closed on 21 March 2006. Superseded by Conservation principles, policies and guidance for the sustainable management of the historic environment (English Heritage, 2008).
Now known as Historic England, English Heritage produced a wide variety of publications with subjects ranging from repair, conservation and management of the historic environment to funding and grants.
