Abstract

Ireland is committed to key climate-protection goals, including that the average global temperature increase is kept below 2 degrees C, and that developed country greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is reduced by 80–95 percent. Consideration of the 2050 goals is essential for planning and achieving the mitigation targets established under the EU 2020 Climate and Energy Package (CEP).
