Abstract

Comprises the report of a seminar looking at the future of cities from an international perspective. Summarises the findings of a round table held on 18 September 2014 at The Royal Society, London, with a group of international experts representing local and national governments, academia and the private sector, which explored these questions: why is a national agenda for the future of cities important; what do we know about the current and future UK system of cities from an international perspective; what are the barriers to, and opportunities for, urban innovation in the UK and elsewhere; how can business and international organisations contribute to the future of cities; and how should the UK Foresight Future of Cities Project develop its international dimension?
