Abstract

Specifies the procedures for technical approval for highway structures on motorways, trunk roads or other designated roads.

Technical approval of highway structures (Withdrawn) (HA, 2012). Design manual for roads and bridges (DMRB). Revision 0 - dated March 2020 - fully revises BD 2/12 with amended clauses relating to CDM 2015 regulations requirement for Principal Designer in the Model AIP, additional provisions for structures options reports, water management, alterations to height/span ranges in some structures, a Type N classification in the temporary works section to align with PAS 8811, amended procedures in design or assessment criteria, requirements for safety critical fixings and updated model forms.
