Abstract

The intention in this Manual, is to provide "a reference of first resort" for all those engaged professionally or otherwise in urban transportation planning, traffic and environmental management, traffic safety and highway design. This manual is a comprehensive guide to almost all aspects of transport in urban areas and every attempt has been made to present current best practice. It provides an easy to read guide, with an excellent list of references and further reading, which allows ready access to more detailed and technical advice and guidance.
