Rights to light: Executive summary

Abstract

Summarises the law as it relates to the rights to light, which is a property right (known as an easement) entitling a landowner to receive enough natural light passing over a neighbour's land to allow the ordinary use of the building. The consultation reviews rights to light by prescription, obstructions, infringement and damages, injunctions and bringing rights to light to an end.
