Technical Statement 33 Heat replacement effect from using energy saving lamps in domestic buildings

Abstract

Answers the case for energy saving compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) in domestic buildings in response to a BRE paper claiming their use led to an increase in energy consumption. Aims to show that substantial savings in energy use, operating costs and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are achieved, even allowing for the heat replacement effect provided by the automatic domestic heating system.
