Good practice guide to community planning and development

Publication Year

1995

Abstract

Describes, through seven detailed case studies, how to achieve that most precarious and difficult of objectives - 'regeneration in partnership with (rather than imposed on) local communities'. It seeks to establish some guidelines for good practice, not simply in a 'toolkit' of consultation and participation techniques, but in changing attitudes, principles and policy which place people and profit on a far more equal footing. It attempts to explain why community planning is necessary now and in the future, when, where and how to do it, how to do it well and how to check if it is being done well.
