REP SHE 11 Waste minimisation: a guide for industry to the reduction of wastes and their pollutant effects
Looks at the way in which industry can reduce its overall waste disposal costs whilst improving its environmental pollution record through a number of techniques known collectively as 'Waste Minimisation'. It examines the legal side of waste disposal and provides a step-by-step guide to carrying out a waste audit, the results of which can be used in determining which projects or processes can benefit from waste minimisation.
Loss Prevention Council
Formed from a merger of the Fire Offices Committee, the Fire Insurers Research and Testing Organisation and the Insurers Technical Bureau in 1984, the Loss Prevention Council (LPC) later went on to develop a certification body, the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), itself taken over by BRE Certification in April 2000. Other LPC documents are now available from the Fire Protection Association.
