Code of practice for fire protection in the food and drink industry
The recommendations in this Code relate to fire protection of process and storage buildings in the food and drink industry. Its principal purpose is to give guidance about protection of the material assets of food industry companies and to promote measures which, if implemented, will protect such premises (and the people who occupy them) from the risk of fire.
Loss Prevention Council
Formed from a merger of the Fire Offices Committee, the Fire Insurers Research and Testing Organisation and the Insurers Technical Bureau in 1984, the Loss Prevention Council (LPC) later went on to develop a certification body, the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), itself taken over by BRE Certification in April 2000. Other LPC documents are now available from the Fire Protection Association.
