REC RC 21 Recommendations for the fire protection of atrium buildings
These recommendations are for the use of insurers when making underwriting judgements concerning the separation and protection of atrium buildings. They are intended to cover all occupancy types, but are not designed to deal with sports arenas or similar constructions.
Loss Prevention Council
Formed from a merger of the Fire Offices Committee, the Fire Insurers Research and Testing Organisation and the Insurers Technical Bureau in 1984, the Loss Prevention Council (LPC) later went on to develop a certification body, the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), itself taken over by BRE Certification in April 2000. Other LPC documents are now available from the Fire Protection Association.
