Abstract

Explores options for the Future homes standard due to be introduced for new dwellings. The intention is to deliver new build homes that are capable of exploiting the latest in low carbon heating and energy efficiency measures. This will help to meet or go beyond the requirements of building regulations in terms of Part L (conservation of fuel and power) and Part F (ventilation). Introduces the consultation package, the future home standard, Part L requirements for new homes in 2020, Part F requirements, airtightness, compliance, performance and information provision, transitional arrangements, feedback on the impact assessment.
