Abstract

Examines the effects and requirements of the Registration, evaluation, authorisation (and restriction) of chemicals (REACH) regulations which came into force on 1 June 2007. The regulations promote safe use, health and safety measures and environmental information and communication for those who manufacture/import and use chemicals (whether it is in the form of a substance, preparation or article). Discusses these implications in terms of cement and cement clinker, safety data sheets (SDS) and classification and labelling. Includes an annex related to flue dust, Portland cement.
