Guidelines on the treatment of noise and vibration in national road schemes (revision 1)

Publication Year

2004

Document Status

Withdrawn

Abstract

Provides guidance on the treatment of noise and vibration during the planning and design of national road schemes. The guidelines are recommended to achieve appropriate consistency with respect to the treatment of noise and vibration during the Constraints, Route Corridor Selection, Environmental Impact Assessment and construction phases of road scheme planning and development undertaken in accordance with Authority’s National Roads Project Management Guidelines (NRPMG). There are currently no Irish standards or limits governing the assessment of noise and/or vibration associated with either new or existing roads.

Publisher Information

National Roads Authority

The National Roads Authority's (NRA) primary function, under the Roads Act 1993, was to secure the provision of a safe and efficient network of National roads. They were responsible for the planning and supervision of construction and maintenance, publishing the NRA DMRB and NRA MCDRW. In 2016 the NRA merged with the Railway Procurement Agency (RPA) to form a new organisation, Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).
