Abstract

Presents an agreed set of competency criteria for Fire Risk Assessors, covering both simple and complex premises, with definitions for clarity. Various appendices cover: an assessment of risk from fire, applicable legislation, requirements for England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales and identifies relevant guidance. Looks at the behaviour of fire in buildings, the effects of fire on people and their behaviour, means of escape, fire prevention, fire protection, passive and active fire protection measures and fire safety management.
