Publication 102 Connections between steel and other materials - interfaces

Publication Year

1996

Document Status

Current

Abstract

Many building and refurbishment projects require structural connections between steelwork and other materials, such as concrete or masonry. This publication examines the design and construction issues implicit in these connections, and presents a range of details. Each detail is appraised in terms of its structural performance and construction qualities, and an indication is given of where the detail may appropriately be used. There are many factors that influence the form of connection details, and these vary considerably from project to project. Details are therefore presented as schematic arrangements that may be adapted to suit the requirements of individual projects.
