Abstract

Explains that new National Planning Guidelines on the location of major retail developments have been issued, and draws attention to amendments made to the Town and Country Planning (Notification of Applications) (Scotland) Direction 1981 and the Town and Country Planning (Consultation on, and Notification of, Retail Applications) (Scotland) Direction 1986.

Withdrawn by Addendum to planning circular 6/2013: development planning. Withdrawal of old and superseded circulars (Scottish Government, 2016). Supersedes SDD Circular 65/1978: National planning guidelines on the location of major shopping developments (SDD, 1978). Also amends SDD Circular 24/1981: Development control (SDD, 1981).
