Abstract

The Activity Database, a means by which users’ needs are defined for planning and design teams, comprises of: Activity Space Data Sheets (A-sheets), their supporting Activity Unit Data Sheets and A-Sheet component listings. A-sheets record in detail each task or activity that is performed in a particular activity space which may be a room, a space, a corridor or bay. In addition environmental conditions and technical data necessary to enable the activities to be performed are recorded. All A-Sheets listed in Scottish Hospital Planning Note 51 Supplement 1 - Miscellaneous Spaces in a District General Hospital - are covered by this document.
