Abstract

Comprises over seventy abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on transport applications of Geographical Information Systems (GIS). These systems, often interlaced with existing databases, are now being used for decision support in a wide range of transport planning activities. Examples and case studies of the applications abstracted here include: GIS in traffic monitoring, network analysis, freight transport distribution, accidents analysis, public transport route planning, pedestrian studies, highway design and highway maintenance management.
