Abstract

Sets out detailed advice on the mechanisms for delivering the policy for coal extraction through surface and underground working by mineral planning authorities (MPAs) and the coal mining industry.

Document History

To be read with Minerals planning policy - Wales (NAW, 2000). MPG 3: Coal mining and colliery spoil disposal (DETR, 1999); MPG 7: Reclamation of mineral workings (DOE, 1996); paragraphs 31 to 42 of MPG 11: Control of noise at surface mineral workings (DOE, 1993); and Planning Policy Guidance 14: Development on unstable land (DOE, 1990) are cancelled only in respect of coal-related development in Wales.
