Abstract

Offers guidance on use of fire retardant coating systems including paint and varnish, intumescent reactive coating and surface impregnations. Provides an in depth view of regulations, codes and requirements and how they pertain to fire retardant coating systems and gives terminology and classifications for reaction to fire. Also covers meeting the requirements of Building Regulations and maintenance for existing buildings and structures. Advises on the selection of fire retardant systems based on substrate condition and includes a typical fire retardant systems data page.
