Abstract

Examines three cements which embody less energy and emit less carbon dioxide during manufacture than Portland cement: magnesium oxide-based cements, CSA-belite cements, and eco-cements based on municipal solid waste incinerator ash. Reviews their prospects for manufacture and acceptance in the UK.
