More information

The NBS Plug-in for Autodesk Revit comes pre-installed with a set of National BIM Library tag families. Once these tag families have been loaded into your model you will be able to annotate your National BIM Library objects.

The default install location for inserting Revit tag families is:

(Version 3.6)
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\NBS.bundle\Contents\Pre2020\SupportFiles\NBS Plugin for Autodesk Revit\Tags
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\NBS.bundle\Contents\Revit2020\SupportFiles\NBS Plugin for Autodesk Revit\Tags

(Versions 3.5 and below)
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\NBS.bundle\Contents\SupportFiles\NBS Plugin for Autodesk Revit\Tags

Note: C:\ProgramData\ is a hidden folder in Microsoft Windows.

All National BIM Library tags are named using the following convention: nbl_Tag_.rfa. For example nbl_Tag_Window.rfa.

To load these tag families into your model do the following:

  1. Click on the Insert tab in the ribbon
  2. Select Load Family
  3. Browse to the NBS Plug-in for Autodesk Revit install location (location shown above) and select Open.
The family type is now available to place in your model. It displays in the appropriate component category, under Families in the Project Browser.
