The new sales team will work alongside the marketing and customer success teams to grow NBS’ existing and prospective customer base in the UK and internationally.

With the recent launch of NBS’ first cloud-based specification platform, NBS Chorus, the new team is at the forefront of delivering excellent customer service, upgrading customers to the new offering and building relationships to help maximise value for customers.

With customer needs at the heart of NBS, the company partnered with durhamlane, who help businesses accelerate sales and revenue growth in a sustainable way and help find the best candidates to join the team. They recruit based on values as they know this is what makes a difference to people, the business and ultimately the customers.

We sourced, selected and on-boarded 10 colleagues into our business within eight weeks. The calibre of candidates has been very high and each bring a strong work ethic and the want and capacity to learn with an abundance of potential.

The 10 new recruits will be split over a number of different teams and will receive a 6-month coaching and training programme which will include business development and CRM training, and durhamlane’s sales coaching.

Lindi Teate, Corporate Services Director at NBS, said: “Our partnered training activity with durhamlane has been a real success and we now have an inside sales team operating effectively delivering new business and owning customer success. I’m confident that they will grow and develop into our future talent and be real ambassadors for the NBS brand."

Alison Freer, Director of Consulting and Learning at durhamlane said: “It was great to work with a truly innovative North East business who really understand the importance of sales growth to its wider business strategy. The NBS team, culture and office space is just fantastic, and we were delighted to help drive their ambitious growth plans.”

The company now employs over 180 staff at its headquarters at the Old Post Office in Newcastle City Centre.

NOTE TO EDITORS

ABOUT NBS: NBS is committed to offering distinctive, innovative specification and information solutions to construction industry professionals and are proud to be leading the construction industry in its digital evolution. Our origins lie in the National Building Specification and for over 40 years we have developed and produced NBS products which support the built environment. Our NBS specification products cover construction, engineering services and landscape design.

More recently we have developed an integrated Building Information Modelling (BIM) platform that has been designed to support global design and construction. It currently has four major components:

  • NBS Bim Toolkit. BIM execution plan, roles and responsibilities.
  • NBS Chorus. Cloud-based specification platform.
  • NBS National BIM Library. BIM object library, generic and actual.
  • Construction Information Service (CIS). Standards and regulations.

CIS is delivered via a joint venture with IHS Markit. This relationship has successfully prospered for many years.

Our products are recognised as being individually effective in their own right, but via the linking of the data, classification and integration, the true power comes through these connections across the NBS BIM platform. Combining world leading technology with expert knowledge, NBS is trusted to help construction industry professionals make the best project decisions.
