The London Development Agency (LDA) and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) have launched a new, mapped database of London's brownfield land called The London Brownfield Sites Database (LBSD). It is claimed the new database will transform land redevelopment opportunities in London. The online tool will allow users to identify suitable development sites and readily explore a site's context. Incorporating the latest Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and existing ordnance survey maps, it allows developers to overlay additional information over maps of the city. There is also a Good Practice Guide on redeveloping brownfield land which focuses on planning-related issues for developers. If that is of interest – you will be even more interested to learn that it is free!

In this programme we take a tour of both the database and an analysis of its content.
